Women’s History Month

It’s time again for women’s history month! In this article you will learn how it was created and some other important, amazing and inspiring women!
In 1987, President Ronald Reagan signed the law that made March Women's History Month! But how did this happen you ask, well I’ll tell you. Women's History Month started as a small week-long celebration but it slowly spread all across the country. Then in 1980 a group was made out of other small women’s groups and was led by the National Women’s History Project. After that they successfully petitioned for national recognition, in February 1980 President Jimmy Carter proclaimed the week of March 8th National Women's History Week!
Women’s history month is celebrated in a lot of countries around the world, such as the U.S, China, Russia, United Kingdom, Canada, Philippines, Australia, Italy, Argentina, Romania, Spain, Chile, and more.
Here are two amazing and interesting women in history!

Here are two amazing and interesting women in history!
- Marie Curie; She was an amazing chemist who discovered radium and polonium. She also made a huge contribution to finding treatments for cancer by using nuclear radiotherapy to remove diseased cells.
- Rosa Parks; She was born Feb 14, 1913 and was a very inspiring activist. Her most known movement was when she was told to go to the colored section on the bus to make space for a white person and she resisted.
