As we all know, Valentine’s Day is the 14th of February! But what is the history behind Valentine’s Day?
Valentine's Day originated in the 1400s in the U.K.. Valentine's day is a day of giving gifts, candy, and flowers. Valentine's day is celebrated all over the world, but most popular in the United States, Canada, the U.K, and Australia. However, Valentine's Day is also celebrated in other countries like Argentina, France, Mexico, South Korea, the Philippines, and many more places. So when and why did the tradition begin? According to some, we celebrate our loved ones on Valentine's day, because St. Valentine broke the rules and married couples in secret, to save husbands from having to serve in war.
Another key part of Valentine’s day is themed products such as candy, bears, decorations, cards, sold at popular stores such as Macy’s, Target, and Walgreens.
