Sports Update #1

On September 26, 2023, the MS442 sports season started for the soccer, volleyball, and track teams. Since then the soccer team has had a perfect season going into the playoffs. They recorded an impressive record of 6-0 in the regular season, but sadly they lost in the first round of the playoffs to Liberty Avenue by one goal.
M.S. 442 girls volleyball is also on a roll. Varsity volleyball is having an impressive season going 6-5. Things are looking good for junior varsity volleyball also, with a record of 3-4 but sadly they, like soccer, also were knocked out of the playoffs. I talked to the varsity and junior varsity coach Mr. T about what they can do better for next season he said, “the volleyball team has to be more aggressive and have more movement towards the ball”.
442 varsity track and junior varsity track sent a message to the other nyc middle school track teams in their first meet – letting them know they are ready to run and ready to win. Just to show this, the stinger runners finished in the top 10 in the race and on November 3, 2023 the track team came in second place in their race with 4 stingers in the top 10. The basketball season has not yet started but when it does we will be covering it, and we are sure they will do great. To summarize, M.S. 442 is having and going to have a very good sports season.
