Out To Lunch

What is Out to Lunch?
In MS442, there is something that happens every week for every grade. What is that? Out to lunch! Out to lunch is when students go outside from the school to different restaurants or stores from around 11:10 to 11:59. You are able to get different foods from pizza to ramen noodles, paid with your own money.
Restaurants/Stores You Can Visit
There’s multiple stores and restaurants as mentioned before. Let’s explore some favorites.
One favorite is an Asian store where most people get boba. They have different flavors there, a personal favorite is the strawberry. They have adorable cups with the lid having cat ears, which lots of students adore.
Another favorite may be Joe’s Pizza. It is normally very crowded, showing how much students love Joe’s. They have multiple pizza toppings but students mostly buy their cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza. There’s multiple seats inside and outside - giving multiple students a chance to eat at their restaurant, enjoying the pizza.
Underrated places may be farther away, making it harder for students to get to.
How do you get Out and In Of Out To Lunch?
Students have a personal card with their picture, name, and a QR code, usually kept in wallets, phone cases or bags. Students use this for multiple things, but mostly to go out for out to lunch. This is because adults must check if they have permission from family or guardians, as well as track who is out of the building. Students get in line as adults scan their cards and if they have permission, they go out to nearby places like some mentioned earlier. Did you know you can use your phone out there too? Just make sure to not bring the school’s iPad…
Money Details
Most food and drinks are not too expensive, you may need to only bring around $10. This is pretty much for every store or restaurant, unless you buy a lot of stuff. Although, the majority of students only get a piece of food and a drink, which is completely alright too!
All in all, out to lunch is a fan favorite from all of 442. All of restaurants, stores, cell phones, drinks, and more are something to look forward to during the week. People say Monday can be the worst day (and most students can agree), but the 6th grade goes out for lunch every Monday - something students are always excited and usually chatting about it.
