Book Review #4 - The City of Ember (1-17-25)

Hey stingers, today I’m reviewing The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau. The City of Ember is about a city built to be humanity’s last hope when the world goes dark and resources are scarce.

Age Rating (common sense media): 8+
My Raiting: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Genre:Dystopian/Science Fiction

What’s the deal

The City of Ember follows Lina Mayfleet and Doon Harrow as they try to save their city from darkness. However they have jobs which take away lots of time and a corrupt mayor who wants them stopped. Doon knows about the city’s problems, Lina does not until her grandmother dies because of the bad conditions together they go on a mission to save the City of Ember.

Should you read it

I would suggest The City of Ember to any fan of dystopian fiction or someone who feels interested in long chapter books. However it gets very sad at very many moments. Overall I think it's a book good for most audiences.
